Internet of Things (IoT)

In simpler terms, Internet of Things or IoT, refers to the network of “things” connected to the internet which are not your traditional computing devices.  No longer just a buzzword, these IoT things/objects/devices utilize sensors and software to communicate information without human intervention.  In recent years, we have become vastly familiar with this concept referred to as smart technology.  Popular examples of IoT include wearable fitness tracking devices like Fitbit and voice assistants such as Alexa or Google Home.  The IoT infrastructure has rapidly expanded into a host of devices that include appliances, vehicles, doorbells, lightbulbs, and much more.
